Sara Mladenović (Aleksinački Bujmir; 2001) is a visual artist mostly working with new media forms of artistic expression in field of conceptual art and fine arts, currently on her master studies in Digital arts at Faculty of Media and Communications in Belgrade (Serbia). In her artistic practice, she is exploring various themes such as ideas of different types of communications, history and culture of healing practices, relation between identity and culture from perspectives of class and gender as well as questioning places of belonging. In her work, she uses banality as a creative strategy while also working with everyday materials as well as human gestures and commonplace narratives, thereby highlighting contradictions and communicating ideas by using visual juxtaposition as a artistic tool. In 2020, Sara finished the Art high school in Niš (Serbia) where she mostly studied basic skills of classic and traditional arts such as painting, drawing, printmaking etc. In the same year, she enrolled in New media arts studies in the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad (Serbia) which she finished in 2024. She is still actively working with traditional arts in addition to new media and digital arts while also studying theory of art and media.
She is also a co-founder of the cultural association interTribina, an emerging initiative developed in collaboration with a colleague Miomir Milosavac
Sara's been living and working in Novi Sad since 2020.
